Rodney Jonathan Lyles was born on July 25, 1970 and is the son of Jacqueline Flowers Lyles and the late Samuel Roger Lykes. He was educated in Anson County public schools and graduated with the class of 1988 from Anson High School.

Born March 4, 1956 in Anson County, NC, Alonzo was the son of the late Walter B. Phillips was the son of the late Bernice Leake Phillips. During his youth, he attended Poplar Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Polkton, NC. Alonzo attended Anson County public schools and graduated from Bowman High School. After his graduation, he was a loyal employee of Hardees restaurants for 20 years.
The summer months allowed cousins Herman and Thurman to visit from Wilson, NC. He spends few days playing football with his friends. Another summer activity is The Flowers Family Reunion when all the cousins get together. Rodney was so proud that he could get his own hotel room of all people when he was old enough.
